Privacy policy

What we collect on this website, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. Last updated 7 November 2026.

Who we are

Decent Audio Tools is run by DecentAudioTools, Ganību dambis 38, Riga, LV-1005, Latvia. We decide how the personal data described here is used, which makes us its controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

For anything about this policy or your data, write to [email protected].

What we collect

  • When you join the waitlist: your email address and when you signed up and confirmed it.
  • When you apply for Beta-Blocks, our beta tester program: your name and email, your DAW and its version, your operating system, your experience level, the genres you make, a link to your music if you add one, what you would use Re-Blocks for, and your agreement to get beta emails.
  • When you email us: your address and whatever you write.
  • When you start a trial, buy Re-Blocks or activate it: your store account and licence details, described under The store and licences.
  • When you load a page: our hosting provider handles your IP address and browser details to deliver the page and keep the site safe. We don't use them to find out who you are.

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. The fonts and the audio examples are served from our own site, so loading a page doesn't contact Google or other third parties. The store is the one exception: it loads from Moonbase, and only when you use it.

Why we use it

  • Waitlist emails about the beta, the launch and the free trial, because you asked for them (consent, GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You confirm your address before we send anything, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • Choosing beta testers and sending beta builds, because you applied and agreed to it (consent, Article 6(1)(a)). Once you are in the beta, we use your details to give you the builds and support (Article 6(1)(b)).
  • Answering your emails, because it is in our legitimate interest to reply to the people who write to us (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • Running a secure website, which is also a legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)).

We never sell your data and never use it for advertising.

The store and licences

Re-Blocks is sold by Moonbase as our reseller (the “merchant of record”). When you buy, Moonbase AS (Norway) or Moonbase LLC (USA), whichever is named on your receipt, takes your payment, issues the receipt and handles tax. For those purchase and payment records Moonbase is the controller, under its privacy policy for buyers. Moonbase tells us what you bought.

Your store account, your licences and the free trial are ours, and Moonbase keeps them for us as our processor:

  • Your account: your email address, your name, a password that we never see, and what you have bought or are trying.
  • Activating and checking a licence: Re-Blocks sends Moonbase your licence, an ID made from your computer's hardware, your computer's name and its operating system. It checks the licence online again now and then, and keeps working offline for up to a week. Your account lists the computers you activated, so you can free one. Re-Blocks never sends your audio, your projects or what you do in the plugin.
  • The store on this website: it loads from Moonbase only when you use a store button or follow a link in a store email. It keeps you signed in through your browser's local storage, not a cookie, and its campaign tracking is turned off.

We use this to give you the software you asked for (our contract with you, Article 6(1)(b)) and to keep each licence to the 3 computers it covers (our legitimate interest in preventing misuse, Article 6(1)(f)).

Who handles it for us

A few services process data on our behalf, under contracts that oblige them to protect it and use it only for us:

  • Sender (UAB Sender.lt, Lithuania) keeps the waitlist, sends our emails and delivers beta applications to our inbox. Sender stores data mainly in the EU and the EEA.
  • Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) hosts this website and runs the waitlist and beta forms.
  • Moonbase AS (Norway) runs the Re-Blocks store for us: customer accounts, licences, activations and trials, and the store emails such as licence and password emails. Moonbase hosts this data in the EU.

Where data leaves the European Economic Area, the transfer is covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Waitlist: until you unsubscribe or we close the waitlist. If you never confirm your address, it is not added to the list.
  • Beta applications: for the length of the beta and up to 12 months after it ends, then we delete them.
  • Emails: as long as the conversation needs, and no longer than two years after it ends.
  • Server logs: kept by our hosting provider for a short time, usually a few days.
  • Store account and licences: while you have an account or a licence. If you ask us to delete your account, your licences go with it. Moonbase keeps purchase and tax records as long as tax law requires.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can object to uses based on our legitimate interest, and you can withdraw your consent at any time without affecting what happened before.

Write to [email protected] and we will answer within one month. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Data State Inspectorate of Latvia (dvi.gov.lv) or to the data protection authority where you live.

This website is not meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

When this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change matters for people on the waitlist or our customers, we email them.
